Oh how I love holiday season! Snow, Christmas trees, happy kids, decorated houses and the whole Christmas spirit floating in the air as the most pleasant aroma. I love seeing people buying stamps for cards in post offices and cards traveling all around the world. How much joy and happiness!
Speaking about cards, I am a true believer that a handmade card is not necessarily better but does feel different therefore I sat down one evening to brainstorm what to put on mine this year. I didn’t figure out how I want them to look but I got a great idea how to add a personal touch to my cards this year and contribute to the “greener Planet” idea. I decided to skip factory manufactured envelopes and make them from paper bags that I got in grocery stores. Not only my envelopes look pretty and one-of-a-kind but also are environmentally friendly.
This is one of the bags I used

I got creative and played around until I got the proportions of a a desired envelope shape right

Here is how my envelope looked like before “becoming” an envelope

And here is a final result

Beautiful, eco and handmade. Are you inspired to make your own too?
